Organizing Trim Healthy Mama
Organizing Trim Healthy Mama
Sometimes starting a new way of eating can be overwhelming. And for me, I find I can be more successful with starting something new if I first sit down and organize it. Here are a few ways I’ve been organizing Trim Healthy Mama.
Flag Your Book
Earlier this year I decided to make my Trim Healthy Mama book a bit more user-friendly. I referred to Amy’s post on how she flagged her book, and I pretty much just copied hers. I’m so glad I did, as it has been so helpful and makes the book easier to navigate.
Make a Recipe Binder
I love binders, and I love the process of putting a new one together. I was constantly pinning and printing Trim Healthy Mama recipes and then not filing them. Then, when I wanted to make a particular recipe I couldn’t find it easily! I already had an organized recipe binder, but now it was time to make one just for THM.
I used my own food photos on the divider pages:
And then I slipped all of those printed recipes into a page protector (I keep lots of those around, always!).
Plan Ahead
The weeks when I actually remember to make a menu (working on this!) go much more smoothly. When I forget to plan, I often find myself standing in the kitchen feeling hungry because I have no idea what to eat for lunch!

Cook Ahead
Another thing that is so helpful is actually making some of the food ahead of time.
Sometimes I do this by setting aside a day to work on freezer cooking, and other times it just really helps to at least make some snacks and desserts ahead. That makes it less likely that I’ll cheat and eat something “off plan” when I need a snack (or even worse, if I don’t make snacks ahead, I usually skip them, and that’s not good either).
In the photo above, I’ve made choco pudding, slim belly jelly, some chocolate, and peanut fudge. Snacks made ahead for the coming week!
If you’re doing Trim Healthy Mama, what are some ways you’ve fit it into your life?
I love the THM book, but I do tend to get a bit lost in the organisation. So thank you for this great post! Really helpful. Don't they have the best recipes?!
Glad it was helpful! Yes, I've found lots of new family favorite recipes in the book! 🙂
What are your snacks for the week? I need to do snack twice a day and I am running out of ideas. Thank you for this post perfect encouragement for today!!!! :0)
Oh and thanks for the book and picture study on Monet, they came in perfect condition and I am enjoying them!
God bless you!

Hi Heather!
I'm really bad about snacks. I usually forget them, but I know I need them since I deal with blood sugar issues if I go too long between meals. Here are some of my favorites: fat stripping frappa, cheese, one apple with 1 tsp. peanut butter, choco pudding, piece of basic cheesecake, melt in your mouth meringues, celery and peanut butter. I got all of these ideas from the book.
I'm so glad you got the book and pictures and that you're enjoying them! That makes me happy. 🙂
Blessings to you!
Thanks for the ideas!!!! I am quiet sure my 4 year old does as well.
May you see the rich blessings every day and may our Lord continue to bless you!
Heather
You're welcome!
