Style for the Season
Today a group of blogging friends and I are getting together to share some “style for the season!” We thought it would be fun to share some outfit ideas that would work for the upcoming holidays.
I couldn’t decide on just one outfit, so I decided to share several. I absolutely love this navy blue dress that I found for a few dollars on a clearance rack. I wouldn’t wear it without the leggings, but it’s super warm and cozy with a pair of fleece-lined leggings from Deborah & Co.
I’m seriously wondering how I ever did without these leggings! They are so warm and cozy! I’ve been wanting to try them ever since I saw them at Deborah & Co., but this is my first pair and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to review them!
I really think everyone needs some of these for cooler weather. The inside of them is fleece, so they’re as comfortable as sweatpants without all the bulk. And they have a nice wide waistband that doesn’t roll or bind.
And, you can get 10% off any order at Deborah & Co. by using the code stylefortheseason today through December 13th!
Navy Blue Dress: Aeropostale
Black Knit Jacket: thrift store years ago
Black Layering Tee: Deborah & Co.
Black Fleece-Lined Leggings: Deborah & Co.
Black Boots: Rampage brand (you can often find similar boots here)
Jet Beaded Headband: Lilla Rose
Makeup: L’BRI
I also wore my black Lilla Rose headband (the Jet Beaded Headband). I think I’ve mentioned this before, but the headbands are one of my favorite Lilla Rose items! I wear them regularly, especially when I’m going out, as I prefer my hair down.
And, you have a nice view of my gray hair here. I’ve never dyed it, but I think I’m getting close to deciding it would be a good idea. I asked this question on my Facebook page a few months ago, but I didn’t get a huge response. Have any of you used a natural hair color that you would recommend? I really would prefer to use something more natural if possible. I would really like to do henna, but I don’t want the drastic change of red hair, and I don’t think it would work well with my skin tone. I’m open to any suggestions.
I really like the look of black and gray/silver together, so I tried to put together an outfit with those colors, using things I already had on hand. I borrowed the sweater from my oldest daughter, and the skirt is from a thrift store. Kind of looks like I need a slip (which I wasn’t wearing here!). These are my favorite mary janes from Walmart several years ago. I love them, and they’re the only somewhat dressy shoes I own.
Black Skirt: thrift store
Silver Sweater: borrowed from my daughter’s closet
Black Layering Tee: Deborah & Co.
Sweater Tights: Target
Mary Janes: Walmart
Pearl Necklace: Walmart
Bobby Pins: Lilla Rose
Makeup: L’BRI
I love the silver threads in this sweater.
I wore this beautiful set of Lilla Rose bobby pins in my hair. I think these are so beautiful. I think they have a vintage look to them (they’re the Stone-Set Cluster bobby pins).
I also love the look of red and black together. My daughter passed down this sweater to me a couple of years ago (decided she didn’t like it), and I wore it in our Christmas picture three years ago. I really like the way it fits, and it’s so soft. (Here I’m saying, “Can we get the dog out of the picture?!” But he looked so cute, so here he is!)
Red Cardigan: from my daughter’s closet
Black Skirt: Zulily (love this skirt!)
Black Layering Tee: Deborah & Co.
Mary Janes: Walmart
Roses Headband: Lilla Rose
Makeup: L’BRI
This is another one of my favorite Lilla Rose headbands, the Roses Headband. It kind of blends into my graying hair here, but I love the little silver rose beads. It’s so pretty and classic.
And lastly, I have this dress that I really like a lot. It has a knit underlayer and then a lace-type of overlayer. But it’s so super comfy. It just pulls on over the head and it’s really quite loose. And then I’m wearing the same red sweater as above.
Black Lace Dress: Zulily
Red Cardigan: from my daughter’s closet
Black Fleece-Lined Leggings: Deborah & Co.
Black Boots: Rampage brand (Zulily sometimes has this brand)
Necklace: Forever 21
Bracelets: Zulily
Jet Beaded Headband: Lilla Rose
Makeup: L’BRI
I love how all these accessories that came from different places coordinated so well. I’ve had the headband and necklace for quite a while, and then I found the bracelets at Zulily. But they all look like they were made to go together.
P.S. Don’t forget that from now until December 13th, you can get 10% off your order at Deborah & Co. by using the code stylefortheseason at the checkout!

Enjoyed your post, thank you for sharing. Just an opinion about your grey hair. I think its beautiful, but I understand your not ready. Two of my daughters are hairdressers and this is what they told me. Add highlights/and or lowlights, but do not do all over haircolor! There is some grey showing, but you will not have the sign of your natural color showing up every few weeks, it will be easier maintenance for you. So I get them to do that for me about every 2 1/2 months, everyone is happy! Good luck.
That's the same advice my sister-in-law gave me! I'm not sure if I'll ever get up the nerve (or have the money) to do it, but if I do, this is probably the way I'll go. Thanks for the advice!
I like all your outfits! You inspire me too! I once commented that not a lot of people were wearing scarves in my area. It is becoming more popular, and my daughter and i like to wear them. I also bought her a lipa rose flexi for Christmas! Thanks for sharing your cute clothing combinations!:) christina
Thank you, Christina!
Oooo! I love that long black skirt! Great find!
Thanks Amy!

Thank you, Tabitha! ♥
No kidding, Marci! Joy, this is all so beautiful! Makes me want to kick rocks at my post, LOL!
Bambi! You're still making me laugh–"kick rocks" at it??! So funny. And, your post was beautiful. ♥
Joy your posts are so inspiring. They get me thinking of some different combinations of what I already have in my closet. I need you to come over and help me put some outfits together 🙂
Thank you, Marci! That would be fun if we could all get together someday! 🙂
I love how your jewelry goes so well with your Lilla Rose hair accessories!
And… I'm partial to going gray. I think it has such a special beauty! But, I'm 30, and nary a gray hair to be found, so I suppose that's easy for me to say. 😉 I still think I'll let myself go gray. We'll see!
Thank you, Kristen!
I used to think I would just go gray, but that was before I had any gray hair! Now I feel a bit differently. It looks great on some ladies, but I feel like I just look a bit faded and tired. But I don't know if I'll ever get around to dyeing it, so I may just be gray! 🙂
Wow, you have class! I LOVE your outfits and style! So beautiful and feminine.
Aww, thanks, Kristy! 🙂
Beautiful outfits! You like so nice. I like gray and black together too. And red and black. Your silvery sweater is just gorgeous! And I love your long black skirt from Zulily!
I like my headbands from Lilla Rose really, really well too! Your photos of the headband and your jewelry are so cool. I love up close photos like that.
Thanks, Deborah! I love that I got that black skirt for free, using referral credits! 🙂
